StoryWalk

StoryWalk

A StoryWalk is an innovative way for children — and adults! — to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Laminated pages from a children’s book are installed along an outdoor path. The walk begins by the Little Free Library near our south parking lot off of Woodmont Avenue. As you stroll around Faith’s property, you’re directed to the next page in the story.

This installation grew out of our concern for pandemic-related learning loss and is an effort to share our love of reading with our neighbors and kids at our partner school, Walter P. Carter Elementary/Middle.

Visit Faith to read a new book bi-monthly

(Books are installed around the second Saturday of each month)

The Reflection in Me

By Marc Colagiovanni

Sometimes when we look in the mirror, we might doubt what we see.  In this intimate and affirmational conversation between a child and their reflection, we are reminded of our own rich tapestry of talents, inner beauty, and unwavering worth.

This book shares a message of positive self-image and unconditional self-love.  This profound and playful journey invites us to find the courage to look inside and love ourselves just the way we are.

Enjoy a walk around the grounds as you consider what God is like in your life and in our world at large.

*A story walk is a way for young readers to practice their reading while being physically active.  A book is divided into 2 page spreads and each one is installed on a station on the grounds of Faith Presbyterian.  There are 14 stations arranged around the church building. Children walk from one station to the next as they read. The Faith Story Walk is open 24-7.
